On Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of June, the Malta Union Club hosted two One Day Events where players of all levels participated in two days full of tennis!
Organised once again by Liam Delicata and Delicata Tennis, players were divided according to skill level (beginners, intermediates and advanced) and played out four matches each. Saturday was dedicated to doubles while Sunday was all about Singles match play.
The scoring system of the event was a mini set to 4 with a tiebreak to 7 at 3 games all. With almost 100 players participating across the two days, no advantage was played but instead a sudden death point to end the game more quickly. This allowed for over 100 matches to be played between 9 AM and 10 PM on both the upstairs and downstairs courts!
Players were all gifted welcome gifts when signing in, including goodies from the sponsors of the event, such as flavours for health, Oakberry, tal-qroqq fitness gym, Browns Pharmacy and Leonards Hair with special thanks to photographer Sammy Ben Tamer from Ekho Media for taking all the pictures during the event and Plan B Barbershop for supporting to event in order to make it a reality.
After each event concluded, a small presentation was conducted and a medal of participation was given to each participant as well as a gift bag from Oakberry and a voucher from Leonards Hair.

- Beginner Singles: Francesco Farrugia
- Beginner Doubles: Robin Caruana Montaldo & Kathryn Caruana Montaldo
- Intermediate Singles: Skye Salt
- Intermediate Doubles: Luke Fiorini Lowell & Simon Fiorini Lowell
- Advanced Singles: Edgar Rozenbergs
- Advanced Doubles: Melchior Farrugia & Adrian Manduca
The interest in tennis events is only increasing after doubling the number of participants from the last event!
Therefore, we can only look forward to the next event to be hosted at the club that will attract even more participants and increase the player base of tennis in Malta.
