The Club is embarking on a number of new projects and initiatives and therefore it seems appropriate to keep our members informed
Lifts
Top priority is the installation of two new lifts which is about to begin in about July/August. As per Contract, these will be installed separately so that at all times we will have one working lift. We ask for the members patience while the works are progressing.
Garage Doors
Another priority is safety both for our members and Staff. Times have changed unfortunately, and we cannot run the risk of inadequate safety measures. To this end it was decided to instal large gates at the entrance to the garage. These will open automatically upon a vehicle approaching the gates. Once in the garage members will still have to use their garage entry cards at the barriers.
Please note that the doors open inwards so exiting the garage and the doors are closed but about to open we ask member to stay a safe distance away so that they will not hit their car.
Cameras
Continuing on the safety measures being taken, we are upgrading the camera system throughout the Club and garage premises. A panic button has been installed at Reception.
Front Door
Further future security enhancements will be installed at the front door and members will be advised accordingly once these are fitted and working.
Second Floor upgrade
We are also awaiting delivery of blinds and in some rooms curtains as well. This will give the second floor a much-needed uplift. This work should be in progress this summer.
Tennis Court
As a result of being once again fully fledged members of the Malta Tennis Federation (MTF)we are embarking on a complete overhaul of the tennis courts to bring up to tournament level. With the help of the MTF we are hoping to host tennis tournaments.
Tigne Beach
A very successful soft opening was held on 1st June and it was enjoyed by all Members present. The emergency repairs to the beach following the havoc wreck by the winter weather are ready We have applied to the Planning Authority for further enhancements. The restaurant has had a much-needed uplift. We are sure that Members will enjoy Tigne Beach this year.
Car Wash
We have introduced a car wash service on Thursdays in the garage. Fees are €10 for exterior wash only and €15 for both interior and exterior wash. The car wash service will be on 2 level. Please notify reception should you wish your car washed to be able to coordinate the schedule.
Activities Held
Malta Squash Association has held another successful Malta Open tournament.
Buraco Tournament was held at the club.
A number of Bridge players will be holding a demonstration of the game during an initiative by the MOC. We were invited to take part in order to introduce new players to the game and to introduce the game on tablets to schools which is already being done abroad.
The Committee of Management wishes all our Members a happy and enjoyable summer.
